A mobile safari is essentially a privately guided safari where you will travel as one unit with your Professional Guide in a private safari vehicle with a fully equipped back up crew. This allows you to experience the adventure of bygone days, travelling through diverse areas, witnessing the transformation as the landscapes change and different habitats meet. Your itinerary is pre-planned in accordance with your time frame and interests.
You and your party will have a camp to yourselves – you will not be sharing with any other guests. You will also have your own private guide and vehicle.
It is important to remember that these are not Lodges; therefore you will not find a swimming pool, four poster bed or health spa. You will however be presented with various levels of luxury depending on the style of mobile you choose. All mobiles will offer you comfortable accommodation, a warm bed to sleep in, shower and toilet facilities and good food for the duration.
Generally you will be moving camp every 2 or 3 days. The camps will mostly be in National Parks utilizing private camp-sites designed for operators only, thus you will often find yourselves right in amongst the wildlife while dining out under the stars far from any other tourists. These camps will be unfenced, getting you as close to nature as possible. Activities will range from game drives, walking, mokoro and boating excursions, depending on where you go
Mobile Safaris will be lead by a professional guide who will be backed up by a team of staff for the duration of your tour. Depending on the kind of mobile safari you choose, a hostess can also be made available to oversee all your personal needs in camp. All camping equipment including tents, tables and chairs will travel with you for the duration, unless otherwise specified, either in a back-up vehicle or by trailer. Essentially you will be travelling in true classic mobile safari style as a self-contained unit.
Each day will follow with a game drive in the morning and afternoon, or other planned activity within the region. Your food will be of a high standard and include breakfast, lunch and dinner. On a moving day, when you are expected at your new camp-site, you will generally be taken on a game drive first whilst the camp staff break down the camp and transport it to the new destination. You will end your game drive by moving to the new location where the camp will already be setup upon your arrival.
